Monica Cadena is an Afro-Indigenous plant ally, journalist, strategist, and the Communications & Storytelling Manager of the EFOD Collaborative, focused on amplifying the work and voices within EFOD's ecosystem while centering community healing through wealth equity and food sovereignty. With a background in Urban Studies and Planning and a focus on food deserts, ecological justice, and land stewardship, what drives Monica in her work is connecting with organizers around the nation to learn how they address national and global issues at the local level.
Outside of her work at EFOD, Monica is the former co-founder of Wear Your Voice, an internationally recognized intersectional media publication, and the creator of Digital Allyship, a digital strategy intensive, and works at the forefront in psychedelic drug policy. Her work has been featured in RollingStone, Vogue, Vanity Fair, People, among others.
