Alexis brings experience with evidence dissemination and nutrition research and previously organized community nutrition and food access programs for the Island Grown Initiative and spearheaded research communication and coordination for ChildObesity180.
Alexis has also worked with immigrant farmers entering the Massachusetts food economy, collaborated with the Worcester Regional Environmental Council, and led evidence dissemination for USAID's Food Aid Quality Review team. She also has 15 years of experience in the restaurant industry, which has helped her navigate the diversity and complexity of the communities she lives and works in. Alexis grew up in greater Boston's vibrant Armenian diaspora, which she credits for igniting her lifelong passion for food systems and food culture.
She holds a BAS in Economics and International Affairs from Northeastern University and a Masters Degree in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition from Tufts University. She currently splits her time between Worcester and Martha's Vineyard, MA where she is involved with efforts concerning food sovereignty and regenerative agriculture.
