Calandra Chaney
Associate
As an Associate of DAISA, Calandra assists with program management and special projects. Calandra has a diverse background in program coordination and project management as it pertains to community development and social justice, as well as in education and business. She is currently completing her graduate studies in International Development and Social Change at Clark University with a focus on monitoring and evaluation, where her Master’s research centers on food sovereignty.
Calandra also recently completed a year of AmeriCorps service at Regional Environmental Council, a grassroots food justice nonprofit in Worcester, Massachusetts. Prior to moving to New England, Calandra worked in nutrition education with Virginia Tech’s Cooperative Extension program, STEM education with the Math Science Innovation Center in Richmond, and community development with an AmeriCorps program in Washington, DC. Calandra holds an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a freelance graphic designer, providing pro bono services for small business start-ups.
